Altay Spor Kulübü is a Turkish professional football club that was founded in 1914 and currently plays its home games at Bornova Stadium. For many years, Altay has been known as Büyük (Big) Altayan as it is one of the most successful teams in Turkey with 12 championship titles. This nickname comes from the time when the club dominated not only the sport but all areas during the Ottoman period!
