FC Cadiz

FC Cádiz is a Spanish football club based in the Andalusian city of Cadiz. Founded in 1910 by José Rivero y Lorqua, he has played in the Segunda División for over 90 years before earning promotion to La Liga last season despite being bottom of the table with just 4 points! The yellow and blue colors cannot hide the fact that this team has a bright future ahead of them: they recently won the second half of the season. Every year, FC Cádiz organizes the Trofeo Ramón de Carranza tournament, which is held in August. The trophy and stadium are named after a former mayor of the city of Cadiz, best known for his contributions to Spanish football during his time as manager of Real Madrid CF during José Mourinho's first term (2004-07). Both teams from the Primera División and from the Segunda División Bitoñoas take part in this annual competition; it is being followed with great interest by the public media as Opening Day is fast approaching - just before most leagues start again!

The fair ends with a big barbecue on Playa Victoria, the largest urban beach in Cádiz. The venue has been the scene of many historic moments for winning teams such as 1981, 1983 and 1985.
